HM revenue and customs -HMC- recently used its legal powers to obtain from us information about customers who held an offshore account with bank and also had a UK address.
Although OK to hold offshore accounts while having UK address HMC beleive that interest income from funds have not been reported on UK tax returns. HMC intend on identifying cases where tax may be owed.
That is it in brief, however gat me a fax number and I will fax with no name on the letter and you can read all. Better if you check this out as HMC can be real bastards about this.
